On January 1, 2025, SEMHub.com and its tools and resources will transition to new ownership and management. The platform, created by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) to serve the Northwest SEM community, will transition from NEEA to the following organizations to continue carrying the torch for SEM practitioners across the continent:

    • North American SEM Collaborative (NASEMC), which is sponsored by ACEEE, will take over daily management of SEMHub.com.
    • Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will host the free EMA Tool.
    • BetterBricks will host the online learning courses.

Read our FAQ and download our transition action checklist to learn what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and how you can prepare.

    SEM SUCCESS STORIES:

Boise School District Is (50001) Ready for the Future

Across 51 schools and 4.6 million square feet of buildings, the Boise School District has regularly invested in energy projects that utilize discounts offered by Idaho Power. However, like most school districts, they lacked in-house energy management expertise. After setting up a Sustainability Committee in 2017, the district embraced the self-paced, no-cost 50001 Ready energy management framework offered by the U.S. Department of Energy. This framework has led the district to a variety of energy successes, including savings of more than 9 million kilowatt hours—equivalent to $560,000.

Detroit® Gets their SEM Motor Running
Committed to building on their recent 1% to 2% annual energy reduction, Detroit, a diesel and electric powertrain manufacturer, decided to shift to next gear of energy management by joining Detroit Edison’s SEM program. Now fueled by free technical support and financial incentives related to steam, HVAC, and compressed-air systems, Detroit has achieved major energy savings, including $136,000 in HVAC system savings, $76,000 in compressed-air energy savings, and $10,000 in steam system savings.
